login failed error

I am trying to export data from one sql server instance to another on anothe
r domain.
however trying to connect to the remote instance never works due to 'login f
ailed' error.
i have access to the remote domain and can verify that the login is correct.
what is the problem?

Are you using DTS, a remote query or what? How are you connecting and what
is the connection string?

Login errors and network errors

Where can I find errors due to network and unsuccessful client login errors in the SQL server side. I saw the SQL error log, but cannot find any.

You can define auidit level under security tab whether login was succed or
failed.
